Edge is the reference layer of India's commercial vehicle economy. Figures on this page were counted on Monday, 14 September 2026.
The numbers India’s commercial vehicle market settles on.
Benchmarks, certificates and decisions for lenders, insurers and makers. Kept under evidence rules, published with a grade and a date, and scored in public when the outcome arrives.
Every product carries a grade. Live is read from production. Modelled is from a stated method on thin data. Pilot is running with consenting clients. Next is named and priced, not yet built.
Three questions the market asks, answered with our name on them.
Each buyer sees one slice of the same vehicles and cannot share it with a rival. Edge is the neutral party that holds the join and stands behind the number.

Every prediction Edge publishes is hashed at the moment of publication and scored against the outcome in public. A number that was wrong stays wrong on the record. Nobody else in this market will put their accuracy where you can check it.

The wall. Four things we will not do, written into every contract.
Neutrality is the whole business. These hold for truckaurbus.com's own lead business as much as for anyone else's, and they are audited.
Scores are never for sale.
No maker, dealer or product can buy a better number. The scoring formula is published and the inputs are logged.
Client data never enriches the public register without contract.
What you hand the desk stays with the desk. Nothing crosses the wall unless the contract says it may.
Register evidence never leaks a client.
The public register is built from public sources. It cannot be used to work out who asked us what.
Engagements never move a public number.
Paid work does not touch the index, the Passport or the ledger. The method decides those, and the method is open.
Five design-partner seats, one per category.
The firms that set the benchmark should pay to set it. A design-partner seat is held by one bank or NBFC, one insurer, one vehicle maker, one leasing company and one tyre, battery or body maker. Each seat buys every product, the API and a vote in the method: what the index measures, what the Passport certifies, what the clean room may answer. Seats close when they are taken.
Seats close when they are taken.
Members sit in the quarterly method review and see every change before it ships.
The monthly front page goes to every reader. The tables and the API do not.
